Fallout 5 Official Release Date Update Is Music To Our Ears

There's no denying that the Fallout franchise is one of the most desirable IPs in the world right now, with the Prime Video adaptation bringing the story to an entirely new audience. That said, it's all about the video game entries for the most part, and we haven't had one of those since 2015, over ten years ago.

As far as we knew, that wasn't likely to change any time soon either, with Bethesda almost entirely focused on producing the next Elder Scrolls game, a series which hasn't had a new release since 2011. Interestingly, things are starting to change though, and it seems like Fallout could be far more of a priority moving forward than it otherwise might have been.

As first reported by The Information (via GamesRadar+), new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma could be planning to pump a whole raft of new money into the company's most iconic first-party franchises. In practice, this means additional funding for Bethesda, to invest in accelerating the new Fallout game, as well as Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries).

The idea here, of course, would be that spending more money on those big releases would enable to them to hire more developers...
