There's no arguing with the fact that Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball more generally, is one of the most iconic anime series, and even media franchises in history, with millions of fans across the world who still tune in for every new release. On TV, they have been very well serviced, with nine distinct seasons spanning 291 episodes across its original run from 1990-1996.
There are also a bunch of spin-offs and side projects for viewers to consume, creating a tapestry that is pretty unrivaled in the genre overall. That said, there has been a lot less luck in the game department, and for every great release, there have been two of three that really fail to hit the mark.
