Rockstar Games has confirmed that those that own Grand Theft Auto 5 on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to claim a free download starting June 18. Grand Theft Auto 5 was first released in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360 before eventually making its way to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. GTA 5's journey didn't end there, though.
With the ongoing popularity of Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar Games was incentivized to bring GTA 5 to the latest consoles, and so PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades were released in 2022. The Expanded & Enhanced version of GTA 5 features significant technical improvements and performance upgrades, but it has always come at a premium price - even for those that own older versions of the game. Luckily, that's about to change.
