The Legend of Zelda is one of the most iconic and immediately recognizable franchises in all of video games, and over the years, there have been numerous different eras to enjoy. Though everyone obviously has their own favorites, there are some high points that most generally agree on.
The most recent Wilds era was undoubtedly one of the best for many, with the open-world formula really opening up Hyrule for exploration from players. Back in the 2000s, though, the big discussion was around the contrast between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, with most favoring the realism of the latter.
Since then, however, things have begun to change in that regard, and Wind Waker is a lot more beloved than it was previously, leaving fans united about exactly what they want to see.
Over on Reddit, one fan asked the community whether they prefer the original GameCube version of Wind Waker that's currently available on the Switch 2, or the HD Wii U version which remains locked to that platform. The comments were fairly united on the superior release, and it could be the kick that Nintendo need to launch the latter on the handheld console.
