It was back in 2024 that Star Wars fans were treated to the first ever open-world video game set in a galaxy far, far away with the launch of Star Wars Outlaws. Developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, Star Wars Outlaws saw players take on the role of Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who must assemble a team to take on a life-or-death heist for the crime syndicate she has found herself indebted to.
Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars Outlaws received generally favorable reviews from critics and the general audience alike. However, it was back in October 2024 that Ubisoft revealed that the open-world Star Wars game had underperformed expectations when it came to its overall sales.
