As far as fantasy series go, there are very few beyond The Lord of the Rings' of this world that can really claim to be as successful and impactful as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. Having sold over 90 million copies worldwide across more than 30 different languages at last count, it continues to compete with the all-time modern bestsellers in the genre.
It has since spawned a big budget television adaptation on Prime Video (that ran for three seasons), and a bunch of other licensed releases, including a video game, collectible card game, a comic book, and even a full TTRPG. Now, another one of those releases is on the way, and it could easily be the best of the bunch yet.
Over on Kickstarter, you should be able to find the campaign page for War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time, an officially licensed board game from Dire Wolf, the creators and publishers of games including Dune: Imperium and Clank. At the time of writing, the crowdfunding run has been a huge success, currently raising a staggering £622,733, from a goal of just £37,194.
It's a huge testament to just how popular the fantasy series remains...
