Onimusha: Way of the Sword is the return of Capcom's 20-year-old classic hack-and-slash franchise, and it might just be getting ahead of a crazy fall release schedule to get its time in the sun.

As spotted by CAG on BlueSky, it seems like Canadian Retailer PNP Games has moved Onimusha: Way of the Sword's release date from September 25, 2026, to September 4 with seemingly no explanation. Other retailers like Best Buy, VGP, and GameStop still have Onimusha slated for a September 25 release, so it could be that PNP is ahead of everyone else, or that it was simply done in error. PNP's listing has been up for two days at the time of writing, and it still hasn't changed the release date back to September 25. As of now, Capcom has not made any official announcement...
