Another day, another course of radio silence from Bethesda. With last week celebrating the eighth anniversary of the day The Elder Scrolls VI was officially announced, we are fast approaching a decade of waiting with no sign of the next installment in the beloved RPG series. Not only that, but with the most recent mainline entry, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, launching way back in 2011, many of us have been waiting for what feels like an entire lifetime for the story to continue.
However, with Bethesda head Todd Howard himself revealing that The Elder Scrolls VI was announced too soon during an interview back in April, it is starting to feel like the next installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise will never be released, especially as we have no cinematic trailer or release window to look forward to.
Things got even worse for Bethesda during June's Summer Game Fest event, as despite multiple trailers beginning with 'Bethesda Presents', none of them were dedicated to The Elder Scrolls VI.
