GTA 6 Price Panic Dismissed by Reliable Leaker

The recent Grand Theft Auto 6 price leak is not legitimate, according to a well-known insider. As things currently stand, there are still no conclusive indications of how much GTA 6 will actually cost.

Taking to X on June 21, reliable industry insider Billbil-kun dismissed the recent GTA 6 panic stemming from the game's supposed price leak. The listings, which appeared on the website of Portuguese retailer Fnac, are likely placeholders, Billbil-kun said, citing their European Article Numbers. The EANs attached to all three "leaked" editions of GTA 6 appear to use placeholder-style identifiers that do not match Take-Two Interactive's usual product-code patterns. Although there is a small chance that Take-Two has introduced a new SKU or barcode convention for GTA 6, that would mark an unusual break from its established publishing patterns. For now, the simpler explanation is that Fnac's listings relied on placeholder data.
