The Elder Scrolls is inarguably one of the most iconic and legendary franchises in the history of the RPG genre. That reputation has been built up over the years thanks to brilliant release after brilliant release. Whether you're a fan of the eerie charms of Morrowind or the immensely moddable, more modern experience of Skyrim, there's an adventure out there for everyone willing to put the time into exploring them.

That's said, it has somehow been almost fifteen years since the release of Skyrim, and we still haven't seen anything of what Bethesda has coming up next for the series. The sixth mainline entry is definitely coming at some point, but we don't know what it will be about, or even where in Tamriel it's going to be set. That reality is difficult to contend with, and a recent anniversary has put the whole thing into perspective.
