The perennially popular Dragon Ball is never far from a new release, but a brand-new saga in 2027 is a wild new departure for the franchise. Despite series creator Akira Toriyama passing in 2024, many of his designs are still coming to fruition, and the franchise's next game is quite literally taking Dragon Ball into a new age.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has received another trailer from publisher Bandai Namco, setting up its bold new story and introducing players to its setting. Originally teased under the project name Age 1000, Xenoverse 3 appears to take place roughly 148 years after its predecessor, with a brand-new protagonist in the futuristic West City. The new trailer reveals that the customizable player character will balance the demands of university with their responsibilities as part of the Great Saiyan Squad, "champions of justice."
Xenoverse 3 seems to be an Isekai, with the main character mysteriously transported to West City and found by Bulma, one of the game's many familiar faces. Other returning characters teased to appear in Xenoverse 3 include Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, and Vegeta. Bulma immediately recruits our new hero into the GS Squad, where they team up with new characters...
