At Summer Game Fest 2026, we got a hands-off preview of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, giving us our first real gameplay impressions of Bandai Namco and Dimps’ long-awaited sequel. We weren’t able to play it ourselves, but we were able to watch a live gameplay demo that showed off the game’s faster combat, improved visuals, and new systems.

The Dragon Ball fandom is already excited about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, and after seeing it in action, it is easy to understand why. While this was not a hands-on session, the demo gave us a much better look at where the sequel is headed and how it is building on what players enjoyed in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

The demo opens at the player’s home, as revealed in the second trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. The person who was playing the game chose to play as an Earthling named Senna. They leave the apartment as the person leading the presentation informed us that we can change our appearance at our home in-game.
