The Monster Hunter games are typically well-crafted experiences, but they're not for everyone. With a gameplay loop revolving around the grind of upgrading gear and venturing back out to hunt more monsters, it can all start to feel a bit self-defeating to those who don't love the grind itself.
Some of Monster Hunter's most memorable touches, however, are its points of cuter charm, like the ability to dress up adorable Palicos in armor sets. For anyone looking to lean further into those aspects, one upcoming game seeks to blend the gameplay of Monster Hunter with the cozy side of games like Stardew Valley.
Today, the game Monster Fantasy was revealed on Steam, with develoepr Jotoyo promising "an action RPG with cozy life-sim elements." While this is far from the first game to blend those genres, this one looks much more committed to a large-scale action RPG experience than most. Screenshots and gameplay footage show off stylish combat and a detailed 3D world, just with more chibi characters than you'd expect to see in a Monster Hunter game.
