The Lord of the RIngs has enjoyed some genuinely brilliant games over the years, with everything from the direct movie tie-ins to the more recent Shadow of Mordor doing something different with Tolkien's epic work. Though there have been some very notable exceptions to that run of good form (looking at you, Gollum).

The popularity of the series hasn't waned in the slightest either, and the appetite for more games connected to the franchise is just as big as ever. Happily, there is one coming down the pipeline that could be grander in scale than anything we've seen so far, and the latest tease has fans in a bit of an excited tailspin already.

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post citing quotes from a recent livestream for Warhorse Studios, in which communications director Tobias Stolz-Zwilling described the game as having a "living world," while also claiming it will be "deeply immersive," as the team strive to become the "new Kings" of the genre.
