Season 3 of Overwatch is underway, and there is a new Venture Excavation Initiative Event that can grant players plenty of loot boxes if they log in and play every week this season. Overwatch is back on the upswing this year following a total rebrand and return to basics that fans have deemed important to the game's identity.
After a tough 2025, Overwatch has started to steer the ship in the right direction, and fans are taking notice. In 2026, the game rebranded back to simply being titled Overwatch, and it brought back Loot Boxes, which fans felt were important to the game's progression and identity, now reworked with better drop rates and totally free of charge.
