Pokemon GO has just announced a new event heading to the mobile game on July 21. Titled 'Professor Willow's Birthday Research', this Pokemon GO event will let players catch a brand-new version of Pikachu, though they'll need to act fast, as the event will last just one day.
On July 21 at 10am local time, Pokemon GO will start its day-long Professor Willow's Birthday Research event. In this event, players will celebrate the fictional character's birthday by catching a unique, never-before-seen version of Pikachu. Called 'Professor Willow's assistant Pikachu', this distinct variant sees the iconic Pokemon franchise mascot don a black and green undersuit inspired by his professor's signature outfit, along with an adorable lab coat and a pair of glasses to match. The official announcement post of this upcoming event on the Pokemon GO website states that players may also encounter a shiny version of this Assistant Pikachu, or possibly one with a team leader-specific Special Background.
