One of the co-founders of Wikipedia has been banned from making any edits to the popular internet encyclopedia, following claims of "canvassing" the website. The popular platform allows any user to edit articles and make contributions to the website.

Since its inception in the early 2000s, Wikipedia has become an icon of internet culture and has spawned countless similar websites. Wikipedia refers to itself as a "free encyclopedia" that anyone can edit, with users able to edit, fact-check, and correct any of the thousands of articles on the website. The platform has even inspired a plethora of niche sites like the Fandom websites, covering topics ranging from games like Genshin Impact to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, one of the creative minds behind the original Wikipedia has been officially barred from making any changes to the website he helped to create.
