Stardew Valley "Sequel" Gets Official Release Window Update

Stardew Valley launched an empire that will continue with the next game from Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, Haunted Chocolatier. We first heard about the game half a decade ago, and have been eagerly awaiting more news ever since.

The thing is, it's taking a while for a reason. Stardew Valley still isn't done with development yet, somehow, after over 10 years of the 1.0 edition changing the face of farming simulators forever. There are more updates planned, and that's on top of working on Haunted Chocolatier.

Speaking on Eric Barone's official blog, the creator had a lot to say about Haunted Chocolatier, including why it's taking so long. Although it's been a while since we've gotten such a substantial update, it's appreciated all the same.

In a blog post titled "still here, still grinding," ConcernedApe lays out how the last five years of development have gone. They start by acknowledging that it's "taking a long time," but note how this is due to being "very thoughtful" of "every aspect of the game."

They also explain one massive feature, and how it's taking up a lot of time all on its own: "Lately, I’ve been revisiting the recipe book for making chocolates....
