In this humble writer's opinion, The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy is the absolute peak of cinema, and the most consistently excellent three-film run of them all. The Godfather has Part III, Batman has The Dark Knight Rises, but Peter Jackson's masterwork remains brilliant and unerring in its vision throughout.
When it was confirmed that The Two Towers would be becoming an all-action video game, it's safe to say that there was plenty of excitement, mixed with trepidation at the track record of movie adaptations up to that point. What we got was a genuinely fantastic translation of the film, and that was followed up by the arguably even better Return of the King, which gave players more characters and more levels to play through.
That said, if you return to those games today, they have started to show their age a little. Fortunately, one dedicated fan has decided to do something about it, and it's safe to say it's a project that looks very exciting indeed.
