Monster Hunter has had its share of ups and downs, including its Steam releases. While the series started off with a bang among a dedicated audience, it took a long while to become a mainstream franchise, especially in the West. Even in the current era, it's having growing pains.

You could argue that Monster Hunter: World was the big breakthrough, even by Capcom's own admission, since that was the goal all along. Monster Hunter Rise was another bona fide success right after, garnering over 15 million in sales, giving it the silver medal behind World ​​​​​​in overall series sales.

Now, thanks to a new announcement on Steam, you can look forward to another monster hunting (and taming) RPG. Just know that this particular game is really ambitious, so it remains to be seen if it'll follow through.
