PlayStation Gamers Urged To Claim Free Store Credit Before July 31

Over the course of the year, Sony has gone from riding high to picking up the pieces after making two jaw-dropping announcements. Back in May, Sony revealed that it would no longer be releasing PC ports of its first-party games in an attempt to focus on complete exclusivity. As such, those wanting to play some upcoming PS5 exclusives such as Marvels: Wolverine and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will have to purchase a console if they wish to play.

Now, to kick off July, Sony returned with yet another announcement, this time revealing that PlayStation consoles would no longer support physical releases, meaning that any game released and any future PlayStation console will now be 100% digital. This means that some of our most anticipated PS5 titles will now only be accessible via digital download from January 2028.

As you can imagine, both of these decisions have left PlayStation users feeling disheartened, and feeling as though gaming as we know it is truly over.
