With the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 reportedly set to take us to a brand-new setting that will "feel like Chicago gone wrong", a recent trailer has fans thinking that we may have already seen our first sneak peek at our next destination.
Whilst Cyberpunk 2077 has received praise for its narrative, story, characters, and gameplay over the years, there is no denying that one of its strongest features is its setting of Night City. The metropolis, which exists in the not-so-distant future, is home to powerful corporations, gangs, streetkids, and nomads alike, and whilst on the surface its neon-drenched streets look alluring, you only need to spend some time there to know that darkness lurks throughout.
Created by Mike Pondsmith, Cyberpunk, and therefore Night City, has years of history beneath its very foundations and despite millions of fans falling in love with it during their time with Cyberpunk 2077, it would appear as though the upcoming sequel will introduce a new setting entirely.
According to Pondsmith, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will also feature a brand-new map he describes as "Chicago gone wrong". However, with no further information regarding this statement, fans have been left to ponder...
