Announced earlier this year as part of the ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations for the Pokémon franchise, the next mainline entry in the Nintendo series was announced. Set to launch some time in 2027 and marking the first instalments in Generation 10, Pokémon Winds and Waves aims to make a splash as it takes players to a tropical archipelago region inspired by Southeast Asia.
Featuring multiple islands and various underwater areas, Pokémon Winds and Waves is already shaping up to be a grand beginning for Gen 10, and although we do not yet have much official information regarding it, we do know some tidbits.
For example, alongside the announcement trailer earlier this year, we got our first look at our Starter Pokémon, including Browt, the Grass-type; Pombon, the Fire-type; and Gecqua, the Water-type. There are also rumors of Legendary Pokémon taking on the form of birds and mermaids, as well as the brand-new Pokédex reportedly set to welcome 150+ new designs. Overall, it seems as though Pokémon Winds and Waves is set to be the most ambitious Pokémon entry to date, but the rumors do not stop there.
