Not every franchise lasts 25 years, but Halo has, as of 2026. It's been a long and tough road for the franchise because while it exploded on the scene initially, it's had issues over time.
The original trilogy is generally celebrated by hardcore and casual fans alike, but after that, it gets murky. ODST and Reach have a ton of love from the community, but Halo 4, Halo 5, and Halo Infinite have seen mixed results, both from the campaign and multiplayer elements.
It seems like the Halo series could be going through its biggest changes yet, though. Over on X, fans are discussing the future of the Halo franchise after a bombshell just dropped. It seems like Halo could be changing forever as soon as the next entry.
