Dune Officially Returns September 2026 With A New Adventure

With the upcoming release of Dune: Part Three in December, Denis Villeneuve's epic adaptation of Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi series is finally coming to a close. While the franchise will continue expanding with HBO's hit Dune: Prophecy series later this year as well, fans are eagerly awaiting word on any additional projects from the IP beyond what's currently in the works, such as a new series, film, or even a new game covering Herbert's beloved Children of Dune era.

However, perhaps one of the most underrated new adaptations of Herbert's work comes by way of Funcom's survival adventure, Dune: Awakening, which first released on PC last year to critical acclaim. And luckily, millions of Dune fans are going to be able to experience a massively improved and reimagined adventure this year, as Dune: Awakening is officially getting an overhauled release on console on September 22, 2026 (via PS Blog).
