A new Fallout tabletop RPG is coming later this summer, and preorders are open now. While Fallout's roots are firmly planted in the video game space, it's inspired at least one tabletop adaptation: Modiphius Entertainment's Fallout: The Roleplaying Game. This TTRPG, which employs Modiphius' proprietary 2d20 system, drops you into the Wasteland in a series of open-ended adventures.
But the Fallout TTRPG is getting a major expansion this summer, and this time, there's a twist: where the original game is designed for Dungeons & Dragons-style group adventures, this new rulebook will allow you to play solo, just like the Lone Wanderer protagonists of the mainline series.
Modiphius describes Fallout: Wasteland Wanderer as "a complete, standalone set of rules adapted from Fallout: The Roleplaying Game to play original Fallout stories with characters of your own creation." The difference is that the rules are balanced for solo players: you won't need a game master, the core rulebook, or others to play with. It's just you, the expansion, and your dice.
