Even if you’re not that big of a Marvel or Marvel’s Spider-Man fan, Marvel’s Wolverine marks a couple of special milestones for Insomniac and PlayStation. Firstly, not even including Marvel’s Spider-Man’s three-part DLC and remaster, Marvel’s Wolverine will be the sixth game Insomniac has released between the PS4 and PS5 generations (an astonishing feat in today’s industry relative to how long it has taken other first-party PlayStation studios to launch new games, let alone studios like Rockstar.

Secondly, anyone who finds themselves on the side of the fence that cherishes physical media and wishes to see it preserved and prosperous will want to indulge in Marvel’s Wolverine’s physical release when it launches this fall. This is because, as PlayStation announces one of the most jaw-dropping shifts in the industry to date, it’ll be one of the last AAA first-party blockbuster games that we’ll be able to collect as a disc that comes in the box players buy at their local store.
