Forget Marvel vs. Capcom—Arc System Works’ 4v4 tag-team fighting game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, has become one of Marvel’s most highly anticipated ensemble games in a while. Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ Deadpool reveal generated a ton of hype, with the Merc with a Mouth, Loki, and Blade rounding out a handful of peculiar character roster teams that players can mix and match at launch.
Of course, characters who’ve been announced for the playable roster aren’t always as exciting as those who aren’t. It’s dizzying to think about how many more characters will be added to the game in the future if it’s true that Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be supported for the next 10 years, and, while one immensely popular street-level Marvel character would otherwise seem like a shoo-in at some point, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls may have already ruled them out.
Like many fighting games before it, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls features themed stages with dynamic, Easter egg-laden backgrounds. These stages include remarkable and iconic landmarks from the Marvel comic book source material that are pertinent to the game’s story and/or characters, such as Knowhere, the Savage Land, and Wakanda.
A fun...
