Marvel Rivals players are rallying together to ensure that the game offers up future characters for free. At the time of this writing, Marvel Rivals is in the middle of a closed beta test, with thousands of players joining in to test out the upcoming multiplayer superhero title. During this test, participants have the chance to compete in special events and discover new tricks and exploits for Marvel Rivals’ roster of heroes and villains from various corners of the Marvel universe.
Not every aspect of Marvel Rivals has been so warmly received though, as the game’s monetization methods fall risk to serious pratfalls of other free-to-play live-service titles. One particular area of concern is that Marvel Rivals will lock certain characters behind a paywall, just like Overwatch 2 once did before outcry led to the developers making new heroes free to play starting in Season 10.
