Assassin’s Creed Shadows was released over a year ago now, with the latest Assassin’s Creed game now being the remake of Assassin’s Creed 4, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. However, the legacy of Ubisoft’s 16th-century Japan action-RPG has not yet ended, even if Assassin’s Creed Shadows had its final major content update released last month.
Indeed, anyone who’s been keeping up to date with Assassin’s Creed Shadows knows that it’s been peppering in Story Drop quests for about a year, all while indulging in crossover content for other games and releasing a paid expansion, dubbed Claws of Awaji. Now, for Western fans who love the lore and atmosphere of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the story is ongoing and highly anticipated this fall.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ manga, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows - Tales of Iga, only recently released its first volume in an English version on June 16, 2026 (the same day as the game’s final major content update release, coincidentally). Beforehand, it had originally been released in a Japanese version on August 20, 2025, and in a French version on November 6, 2025.
