Nintendo Switch 2 was released with an LCD screen, but rumors suggest the company is exploring the possibility of releasing an OLED model for the system. The current version of the Nintendo Switch 2 was released in June 2025, more than eight years after the original Switch. Multiple system bundles have been offered with different software, but Nintendo has not released any system variants since launch. The hardware has remained completely the same, which was not the case throughout the original Switch's time on the market.

Nintendo Switch 2 will see a price increase in September, following similar hikes for systems like PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The global RAM shortage has resulted in price increases for countless tech products, and Nintendo's newest console is no exception.
