Microsoft has recently revealed that the Fallout TV series has had a hugely positive impact on the franchise's games, increasing the total playtime of the titles on Xbox Game Pass almost five times more than usual. It was already known that games such as Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 were positively impacted by Amazon Prime’s Fallout debut, but the true scale of this effect was still unknown.

The Fallout TV show debuted back in April and was a major hit, considered both a commercial and critical success. The series had over 65 million viewers in 16 days and was nominated for the Emmy in categories such as Best Drama Series, Best Lead Actor for Walton Goggins, and more. A second season for Fallout has already been confirmed and is likely to arrive early in 2026.
