It's no secret that it's a very big year for The Legend of Zelda franchise as a whole, as the beloved fantasy series celebrates 40 years since those first pixels nervously tottered onto our screens. As part of that, fans have been expecting some pretty big announcements from Nintendo to mark the occasion, and things have really started to get moving on that front.

The big news has obviously been confirmation of the 2026 release of the long-awaited Ocarina of Time remake, with more information expected on that in short order. The movie is also continuing production, and there's still plenty of time left for more exciting announcements before the year draws to a close.

As first reported by GoNintendo, toy manufacturer Hasbro has confirmed they have just signed a new licensing partnership with Nintendo to create products based on the Legend of Zelda franchise. It's a multi-year collaboration that's set to release its first items in 2027, with the first reveals of three 6" scale figures set to go ahead at San Diego Comic Con between June 23 - June 26.
