Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn AAA RPG Teaser Splits Gamers

Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series has become increasingly popular in recent months after the massive success of the official Cosmere role-playing game, published by Brotherwise Games in partnership with Dragonsteel Entertainment. The tabletop RPG adapts stories from both Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive, and features the standalone Stonewalkers campaign, with a sequel already in play-testing alongside additional long-term support planned for the Cosmere RPG.

However, based on a teaser announcement from Sanderson's 2025 year-in-review update, it seems that Mistborn may be getting an official AAA RPG adaptation as well, bringing the Cosmere universe to video game format for the first time in its storied history. While no official plans have been confirmed and the idea remains in early development at this stage, with Sanderson still pitching the concept to multiple studios, a proper Mistborn RPG has left gamers largely divided (via Reddit).
