MachineGames, Bethesda, and Modiphius are teaming up to create Wolfenstein: The Roleplaying Game, a brand-new, officially licensed tabletop RPG based on the beloved first-person shooter franchise. Wolfenstein: The Roleplaying Game has recently received its own page on the crowdfunding site GameFound, and pledges will go live sometime in Fall 2026.
The Wolfenstein franchise hasn't received a new mainline entry in almost a decade, but a new one could be on the horizon. After a NoClip documentary featuring a MachineGames developer saying the team is "not done" with Wolfenstein aired in September 2025, fans have been convinced another mainline entry is on the way. These theories have been supported by several rumors and leaks from earlier this year, with several sources claiming that another Wolfenstein game is in development at MachineGames, and one claiming that a casting call has already been sent out. Neither MachineGames nor Bethesda have officially confirmed that another Wolfenstein video game is currently in development, but at least fans will have a tabletop RPG to play soon.
Wolfenstein is a franchise that has often played second fiddle to others in the gaming industry, but it deserves recognition for some of its games.
