Call of Duty players are criticizing the new XDefiant map, Daytona, claiming that it is a copy of Modern Warfare 2's Santa Sena Border Crossing. The new XDefiant map is an Escort and Zone Control-specific map that is being mocked due to the overall layout being somewhat similar to that of Border Crossing, which itself was heavily disliked by the community.

XDefiant seems to be destined to live in the shadows of Call of Duty. Even prior to the first-person shooter's release earlier this year, it already had immense pressure on its shoulders as many labeled Ubisoft's new IP as the "Call of Duty killer." While the shooter hasn't managed to take out the giant that is Call of Duty, it did manage to win around plenty of players when it confirmed that it would have no skill-based matchmaking within its casual playlists, something that has been a controversial topic within the FPS community for many years.
