Goichi “Suda 51” Suda and Shinji Mikami would like to bring back Killer7, either with a brand-new game or a remaster of the original 2005 action title. Suda 51 is known for his stylish, over-the-top action games like No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned, and Lollipop Chainsaw – titles that have gained attention for their unique concepts and punishing gameplay. Meanwhile, Shinji Mikami has a notable career under his own belt, directing the original Resident Evil among numerous other Capcom titles before co-founding Platinum Games in 2007. He would go on to direct 2010’s Vanquish before founding Tango Gameworks, where he worked on such projects as Hi-Fi Rush.
These two legendary figures collaborated on Killer7, an action game developed by Suda51’s Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Capcom in 2005. Co-written by Suda51 and Shinji Mikami, Killer7 was the former’s first game released outside of Japan and told the bloody tale of an elite group of assassins that are manifested by an elderly man named Harman Smith.
