Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is now due to debut in early 2027 as a result of its first official delay. The real-time strategy game's new release window also doubles as a rough timeline for when Jon Snow will be back on virtual battlefields, which War for Westeros will have in spades.
Made by Melbourne-based PlaySide Studios, War for Westeros is a new video game adaptation of HBO's Game of Thrones series. The Australian developer announced the project during the June 2025 edition of Summer Game Fest with a two-minute cinematic reveal trailer, which ended on a promise of a 2026 launch. PlaySide reiterated that broad release window as recently as June 2026, but the schedule appears to have changed just one month later.
