Final Fantasy is one of the best-selling franchises of all time, and it has a legacy that most series will never match. Any given Final Fantasy game has spawned a cottage industry of merchandise and legacy games, especially the titans like Final Fantasy 7. In addition to spawning an entire expanded universe, FF7 has also kept Square Enix busy with the remake trilogy, spanning roughly a decade.
Based on recent comments from the company, it seems we have an idea of where the studio is going next. Remakes for Final Fantasy 6, 8, and 9 were all floated, but would need "multiple entries" to remake them. Now, over on Reddit, fans are discussing Square Enix's next move.
On Reddit, folks are discussing what the next Final Fantasy remake will be, and the consensus is obviously split. Some think there won't even be another remake, at least not at the same scope as Final Fantasy 7.
