Wreckfest is getting a sequel, with Wreckfest 2 just announced at today's THQ Nordic Digitial Showcase. The reveal comes alongside a trailer, with footage captured in-engine.
While only brief, this gives us a look at what the next Wreckfest instalment is aiming for. Like the first game, this has a heavy focus on combative racing, as you have to take down opponents as well as beat them in the race.
Ahead of the showcase, THQ Nordic previewed some of Wreckfest 2's features to the press. Here, it was revealed that Wreckfest 2 will include expansive vehicle customisation, and there was no shortage of cosmetic options to play around with. It has what you'd expect from any car creator system, but also lets you make your car look like it's taken some damage, adding general wear and tear as well as rust.
Wreckfest 2's gameplay was described to us as "full body contact racing", with an emphasis on taking and dealing damage to your opponents. We certainly get a feel for that in the reveal trailer, as we see the player take a beating.
