Larian Studios revealed Divinity in a cinematic trailer at The Game Awards in December 2025, marking the studio's return to its original fantasy universe after completing work on Baldur's Gate 3. The brutal and somewhat disturbing trailer centered on a tortured prisoner being burned alive during a crowded festival, with his death unleashing acidic blood, plant growths, and the enormous structure Larian calls the Hellstone. Divinity returns fans to the fantasy world of Rivellon and has been described as Larian's most ambitious RPG yet, though it has no confirmed release date.
