Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Feature Only Available on Some Consoles

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, the remake of the classic Wii game staring Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, will support gyroscopic motion controls, though only on some consoles. PlayStation and Nintendo fans will be able to take advantage of this feature in the THQ Nordic-produced game, mirroring the controls of the original Wii game, but it seems like Xbox players won't be so lucky.

The original Epic Mickey was a commercial success despite mixed reviews. Releasing in November 2010, the game was primarily a classic 3D platformer, but it also incorporated the use of a magic paintbrush, which allowed players to use automatically replenishing supplies of paint and thinner to remove or replace objects in the game's world using the Wii's built-in motion controls. The remake was announced in February 2024 during a Nintendo Partner Direct and is being developed by Purple Lamp, the studio known for its work on SpongeBob SquarePants games The Cosmic Shake and Battle for Bikini Bottom.
