A cut Destiny weapon with a one-of-a-kind ability shows up online when discovered in the game's data after 12 years. Destiny has had a wild ride as an IP, changing massively since 2014 and going through multiple eras within Bungie and in terms of publishers, playerbase, and updates. Unfortunately, that long ride seems to be over now that Destiny 2 is no longer supported at Bungie and, allegedly, there are no other Destiny games in the making that were greenlit by Sony.
Yet, as fans have been saying since the announcement of Destiny 2's death, "Guardians make their own fate," which was first stated in the Vault of Glass Raid. In fact, Destiny 2 is bringing content vault missions and locations back through the fan-made free mod called Project Sunrise, and a Destiny 1 PC port is also being worked on by a fan. Even if official content may be over, be it for now or for good, Destiny is still very much alive. Now, a fan managed to find an old weapon that was cut more than 12 years ago and never made it into the game.
