Xbox Game Pass is making big changes to the way that cloud gaming works by limiting how much time subscribers can spend utilizing it every month. Prior to this change going into effect, Xbox Game Pass provided unlimited cloud streaming time, albeit with some limits on what games could be accessed depending on the subscription tier of the user.
Xbox Game Pass has regularly made changes since its inception, with some being popular with the community, while others haven't been taken as well. One of the biggest shifts to the service over the last year was when the price of Xbox Game Pass was increased in October 2025, with the highest tier's price rising $10 per month. The backlash was significant enough that Xbox Game Pass prices came back down in April, albeit with the prices still higher than they'd been prior to the increase.
