Generally, people know about new releases for the popular trading card game Disney Lorcana months in advance, and there's a lot of discussion about them. But that certainly isn't the case with this sneaky release that happened last week. The game launched its 13th set, Attack of the Vine, in July, and doesn't have another set expected until October, which is why this silent launch seems to have caught many off guard.
In August, at Disney's D23 convention, Disney Lorcana made several announcements regarding the future of the TCG. During this event, there was an early access look at the new Disney Lorcana Quest of Wonders: An Illumineer's Lorebook, which became available everywhere Lorcana products are sold on September 1, 2026. Official press releases regarding the book reportedly won't even be happening until later this month.
Disney Lorcana Quest of Wonders: An Illumineer's Lorebook is a beautiful deep dive into the lore behind the card game.
