World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is officially making another comeback, this time as the star subject of Blizzard's next Remix event. The limited-time return will mark the third such World of Warcraft promotion to date, following similar Remix events based on Mists of Pandaria and Legion.
Originally released in November 2008, Wrath of the Lich King was World of Warcraft's second expansion, taking players to Northrend and introducing features such as the Death Knight hero class and a new level cap of 80. It sold more than 2.8 million copies within its first 24 hours, while WoW reached over 11.5 million subscribers by the end of that year. Blizzard had already revisited this period once with Wrath of the Lich King Classic, which launched in September 2022 and recreated the iconic expansion within the separate Classic ecosystem.
