A new co-op zombie game called NightRunner has been unveiled, and it is set to enter playtest on Steam as soon as October 3, 2026. NightRunner wants to blend several genres, including extraction shooter, horde shooter, and survival, into one seamless experience. And the result looks like an intriguing mix, especially for Steam users who like PvE shooters.
Indie studio 314 Arts developed NightRunner as a self-proclaimed evolution of horde shooter games, drawing inspiration from Killing Floor, Escape from Tarkov, and Call of Duty Zombies's TranZit map. These games also shape NightRunner's gameplay loop, which centers on a moving train that alien creatures constantly ambush. Between attacks, players can stop at several stations to explore and search for worthwhile loot to extract.
