There's so much going on around The Legend of Zelda as a franchise right now that it's actually quite difficult to keep up with all of it. The current buzz of activity comes as the series celebrates a very impressive 40 years since it first debuted on consoles, and Nintendo has certainly delivered a raft of confirmations and announcements to mark the occasion.
The movie adaptation has largely finished production, with that currently set to release in April of next year. At the same time, the Ocarina of Time Remake should serve as a great way for a new generation of fans to enjoy one of the greatest games of all-time, all from the convenience of their Nintendo Switch 2.
The only thing that has remained somewhat up in the air is what the developer plans to do with the mainline single-player series moving forwards. Now, they have shared a brief statement about their intentions for the franchise more generally, and it could give us an inclination about the post-Wilds era.
