A recent Nvidia driver update may have prematurely revealed that Final Fantasy 16 is set to launch on PC imminently. Although it's been common knowledge for some time that developer Square Enix is working on a PC port of Final Fantasy 16, its exact release window has been up in the air.
Final Fantasy 16 originally launched in June 2023 as a timed PlayStation 5 exclusive. The highly-anticipated JRPG accrued mostly positive reviews and impressed many fans with its high-caliber graphics and kaiju-esque Eikon battles. The good news kept on coming with its commercial performance too, as Final Fantasy 16 achieved the highest sales debut for a PS5 game in Japan and went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide. There was some consternation over Final Fantasy 16's total sales numbers as Square Enix reported losses in the following quarters, but the company claims that it is satisfied with the game.
