The No Man's Sky's Worlds Part 1 Update brought with it dozens of new changes, including better clouds, more realistic water, and sky islands, which caused players to come flooding back to the eight-year-old game.

However, while that update did blow minds, a trick shared on Reddit has sent the No Man's Sky community into a frenzy as they're just discovering a new way to make mining far more efficient.
Reddit user Adamoy shared a post, asking players, "Where were you when you learnt that using the smallest Terrain Manipulator setting gives you the most resources?" This simple question caused an existential crisis for large parts of the fan base.
Adamoy found that by setting the Terrain Manipulator to the smallest setting, resource deposits were more plentiful, and they were able to gather more over the same span of time. While there was some debate on just how efficient this new method was, one player with almost 4,000 hours in No Man's Sky said, "The lowest setting definitely gets you a higher yield."
